Init.php File Settings

/system/application/config/init.php is one of the custom config files added to the code igniter installation. The settings included in this file are listed below. Click on one of the links for more detail on the config variable.

template_dir: directory that holds the templates that build the header, footer, and content areas of the pages.

SnippetLength (Default - 235): Length of snippets that are displayed on the category indexes as well as the home page.

AuthArticles (Default - 0): Allows you to set access restrictions to article categories.

StreamArticles (Default - 1): This allows the category index pages to have streaming feeds of the articles posted in that category. To create a category index, create a new article in the category you want and name the page index.

ArticleStreamAmount (Default - 0): Determines the number of articles displayed in the category indexes. If set to 0, 10 articles will be displayed by default. Any number above zero will be the number of articles displayed.

StreamHome (Default - 1): This allows the home page to have streaming feeds of the articles posted in categories that allow access.

HomeStreamAmount (Default - 0): Determines the number of articles displayed on the homepage. If set to 0, 5 articles will be displayed by default. Any number above zero will be the number of articles displayed.

ContentAdsense: This is the name of the block that will be used to display your adsense or any affiliate links below streaming articles.

SiteName: The Name of your website which will be used in Meta Tage and throughout your user's online experience.

SiteEmail: The email address that will be used throughout the website for contact form submissions.

NoReplyEmail: The email address that will be displayed in the from line on emails sent from the website such as the welcome email with the user's verification code.

member_title & user_title: Title for the two member types that will be used throughout the website.

member_url & user_url: This is the part of the url that will be used for user and member profiles. Eg. http://www.yourdomain.com/user_url/profile/username

member_folder & user_folder: Directory where user and member images will be saved.

dataTables: If you create new tables, you can use this to auto fill dropdowns with values from the table.

IndexCategory: Determines which Category Type will be used as the root of the website. Your homepage must be named home and be placed in the IndexCategory.

Paypal API Settings: Fill these values in if you have a Paypal API account and will be accepting payments through your website from your members.
