Updates for v3 coming in January 09
After much review and thought, and due mostly to recent experience with new coding principals, we will be implementing some very good features in the next version of NSEC. We are aware that there are some things that are not as easy to learn with the current release of NSEC and we hope to eliminate that by making the system even simpler on both ends.
Our goal is to develop the easiest out of the box system for website design and development, still being concerned with the simplicity on both the front and back end.
Templates: The first thing we want to make best use of is the template system. v2.0 doesn't include completed functionality for using templates. This is currently in beta testing and will be implemented in the next release.
CMS Updating: Currently, updating the CMS requires installation of a copy of the newer version. This will be eliminated by the reorganization of the system files and a restructure of how files are called with the new template system. An update server is also in beta testing and will allow automatic update checks and updating if enabled in the CMS settings.
Redesign: WIth the help of our graphic artists, we will have a new design as well as a few free, downloadable skins available through the website.
Support: Due to the higher demand for this Simple-n-Easy CMS, we have a growing userbase which means more developers available to help you out. You can join the site via Google and leave comments or questions or you can signup for a developer account and make your own contributions to our work.
